I can't believe that the year is almost over and my innovation time is almost done. I liked having this time to innovate and work on things that actually interested me. I looked forward to innovation day throughout the week. I think the best part about innovation was learning more about myself and about soccer because soccer is my favorite sport. Now I have knowledge that I can use while playing soccer which is very beneficial. I am scheduled to do my TED Talk next week may 18th, but I do not have my presentation completed yet so I will include my link in a later blog post.

During the latest innovation session I worked more on my website that describes the 4-3-3 formation. Most of the stylistic choices are done, and I have added a good amount of information. I haven't published the website yet because I don't think it's finished yet. Next innovation session I will work getting more information on the website and describing more of the positioning that the whole team needs to have. I am hoping to finish the website and publish it before my TED Talk on May 18th.
During my 20th innovation session I worked on adding pictures and roles and responsibilities to my website. I also worked on my contact page on my website which will allow people to contact me if they have question or suggestions. I plan to continue to work on the website next innovation session, and add more about the individual positions.
Today I worked on my website for how to play a 4-3-3. Right now I am just getting the basic layout and some of the basic stylistic choices out of the way. I hope to start including information and actual stuff into my website during the next innovation session.
During my the latest innovation session I worked on making a website, which will be the way of communicating all the information I've gathered. The website will explain each of the players roles and responsibilities in a 4-3-3 formation. So far I am almost done creating the home page, so next week I will work more on the pages for each of the positions.
Making progress! During my latest innovation session I continued to look at the individual roles of the 4-3-3 and make sure I had a good understanding on what players' responsibilities were. My next innovation will most likely consist of a little bit more research to make sure I have all the bases covered and then I will start working on a presentation or some type of media that I can use to share all this information I have accumulated. During this process I have grown as a researcher because I am learning how to find more information and to look at more sources to get the most detail about a subject.
During my latest innovation session I looked more in depth at the 4-3-3 and how it could be played. As I said in my last post, I want to play a 4-3-3 with a flat four in the back, a triangle with one midfielder hanging back and the two others pushing forward, and lastly 2 outside strikers hanging back with a central striker pushing forward in the middle. I am currently researching the individual roles and positioning skills needed for each of the positions in the 4-3-3 formation, including the goal keeper. Along with other stuff, I have gotten information regarding how players should mark opposing players, and how they should pressure the opposing team. I also looked at the different passing opportunities that can be available when playing a 4-3-3. This is shown in the picture below, with the four defenders (2,3,4,5) pushing up more into an attacking position.
During my latest innovation session I decided to choose a specific formation to research. I chose the 4-3-3 formation, and started looking at the roles and responsibilities of each individual person in the formation. I decided to follow the variation of the formation shown in the picture below. We will play four flat fullbacks and then a triangles midfield. One of the midfielders will be more defensive minded and then two more midfielders playing up the field. The strikers will be playing in a triangle, with two playing back a little bit and one striker up top. Next innovation session I will look more at the tactical part of the formation and more of the individual responsibilities. I am growing as a researcher beucase I am looking at many different sources to confirm what one person is saying.
During this innovation session I looked at the analysis of games on zonal marking.net. I looked at the article on the game between France and Portugal. I am still waiting on responses from coaches I have sent emails to. Next innovation session I will start narrowing down the formations to ones that I think will be good for our team. The picture below shows the formation of France in blue and red is Portugal.
During the latest innovation session I finished up sending out emails to coaches, and now I will wait on responses from them. While waiting I will continue to look at zonal marking.net which is a website that explains how formations were run in real games. My idea for the project is that once I think I have enough information/ background about each formation and how they are played in real games, I will choose a formation that I think will work well for our team. I will continue to study that formation and then find a way to communicate how to play it to my team. I've learned that even though there is a basic formation, it is played a little bit differently for each team. I am growing as a researcher by finding first person sources to contact.
